Working as a ‘sort of’ Collections agent in the mortgage branch of Bank of America, I have more fun than you might think. Most of the fun comes from the people in my department who so very clearly do not belong there. Since I am a member of the department myself, I don’t want to belittle the level of intelligence that one needs to do this job, but I can admit this without shame.

I neither hate nor appreciate use of the Oxford comma (more accurately referred to as a ‘serial’ comma). I do, however, believe it is almost always needlessly used and entirely avoidable. If you need to employ a comma before the conjunction in a simple series simply to disambiguate your sentence (the only valid reason to use it), you would likely be better served reconstructing the...
